5. FINAL DRIVE
The final drives are a combination of single reduction and planetary gear systems. They cause the last speed
reduction and the last torque increase in the powertrain. They transfer power from the hydrostatic drive motors
to the tracks by way of sprockets.
This includes the track roller, track carrier roller, front idler, track adjuster, recoil spring, and pivot shaft.
7. ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC CONTROLS
Joystick Speed and Steering Control To determine the desired speed and steering, the machine ECM
uses operator input gathered from: the transmission joystick; the joystick steering; the joystick thumb roller (for
acceleration and deceleration); the brake/deceleration pedal; the joystick speed recall button; and the parking
brake switch. In turn, the machine ECM can modify the desired speed based on conditions of underspeed,
overspeed, electronic pressure override, and detected faults. To achieve the desired speed and steering, the
machine ECM modulates the current to the pump and motor solenoids according to feedback from the motor
Braking The machine uses the hydrostatic powertrain and engine deceleration for braking. The machine
also has an electro-hydraulic controlled parking brake system. The machine ECM controls both of these sys-
tems using input from the operator controlled brake/deceleration pedal.
8. IMPLEMENT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM & IMPLEMENT HYDRAULIC CONTROLS
The machine is equipped with an implement system that is electronically controlled and hydraulically actuated.
The electronic joysticks enable the operator to send commands to the machine ECM in order to control the
systems. The implement system includes a bulldozer and a ripper or a winch.
9. AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING SYSTEM
The air conditioning system is a closed-circuit orifice tube system that uses refrigerant, which is under pres-
sure, to cool the operator compartment.
The heating system uses coolant from the engine cooling system to heat the operator compartment.
