The equipment ECM is located behind the right rear access
door above the machine ECM. The equipment ECM
communicates with machine ECM by means of the Controller
Area Network (CAN) bus.

The equipment ECM adjusts the solenoid valves according to

current to the solenoid. The solenoid receives electrical
current from the equipment ECM. The solenoid plunger then
travels a distance in proportion to the electrical current sent

The machine ECM can detect a failure in the solenoid circuit
and record a diagnostic code when a failure is present.

The solenoid coils are not designed
to operate using 24 DCV directly. Do
NOT activate the coils by using 24
DCV (battery positive). This will
drastically reduce the life of the coils.
Winch Pressure Sensor (D6K with
When the winch is in the brake mode, very little pressure
should be present in the drive loop. After applying the brake,
the sensor determines if high pressure is in the line. The
sensor allows the machine ECM to determine the pressure
differential across the motor ports of the winch.
Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor
This sensor is a passive analog sensor. The sensor's signal
voltage corresponds to the temperature of the hydraulic oil.
Implement Lockout Switch
This switch is designed to de-energize the implement lockout
solenoid. The switch has a normally closed contact and a
normally open contact, which allows the machine ECM to
determine switch position and to detect a failure if the two
circuits are ever in the same state.
Winch Free Spool Switch (D6K with
This switch releases the winch cable.
