Protective face shield and gloves must always be worn when refrigerant lines are opened,
even if gauges indicate A/C system is empty.

C AU T I O N
DO NOT charge A/C system with liquid refrigerant through compressor suction ports. This
could seriously damage compressor.
N OT E
Charging should be performed at air temperature of 70F (21C) and above. Changes in
ambient air temperature will affect A/C system's ability to take charge and will vary gauge
readings.
Do not add partial charge to A/C system. Accurate refrigerant charge can only be
determined by weight or by temperature of evaporator core. Always recover refrigerant
first, and then evacuate A/C system before charging.
Operating A/C system periodic lly during the off-season will lubricate seals and reduce
a
possibility of refrigerant loss.
Up to 7 oz (200 g) of refrigerant loss per year is considered normal.
1. Install blue low-side hose (Figure 3, Item 2) on suction (low) side of A/C compressor.
