DESCRIPTION

Winch Drive-Away Switch (D6K with
This switch releases the winch brake and it activates the drive
Winch)
away solenoid. When energized, the drive-away solenoid
valve sends pilot hydraulic pressure to the drive-away valve.
When the drive-away valve opens, it connects the motor ports
together and allows the motor to turn independently of the
closed circuit hydraulic pump. The resistance of the motor is
then seen from the spool. As speed increases past an
overspeed point, the resistance is increased through a hydro-
mechanical valve. The load will begin to drag behind the
machine and limit the reel out speed. Tension is held on the
cable in order to prevent the cable from becoming tangled.
When the drive-away solenoid is not energized, the valve is
closed by a spring. Hydraulic flow from the closed circuit
hydraulic pump may flow to the motor parts for the winch as
required for the reel-in and the reel-out functions.

Ripper/Winch Handle (D6K with
The ripper lift lever has three ranges: RAISE, HOLD, and
Ripper/D6K with Winch)
LOWER. The winch lever also has three ranges: REEL IN,
HOLD, and REEL OUT. The position sensor sends a
continuous pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the
machine ECM. The duty cycle of the signal varies in proportion
to the lever position. The machine ECM measures the duty
cycle in order to determine the position of the lever. The
frequency of this signal is approximately 500 Hz. The machine
electrical system provides 10 volts to the sensor for operating
power.
12
Fourth Function Switch
This switch allows the lever to control a fourth function.
13
Control Handle Base
The base for the blade control handle contains a thumb roller
sensor, tilt position sensor, and a lift position sensor. The
sensors send a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the
machine ECM. The machine ECM relates a specific sensor
duty cycle value to a specific joystick position. The machine
ECM determines the correct amount of electric current output
to a solenoid or control based on a software map that is
contained in the programmable memory of the machine ECM.
