DO NOT service cooling system unless engine has been allowed to cool down. This is a
pressurized cooling system and escaping steam or hot coolant may result in serious
burns.
Wear effective eye, hand, and skin protection when handling coolants.
Engine coolant used in the performance of maintenance can be very slippery. Immediately
wipe up any spills.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in death or injury to personnel.
4. Position approved container under drain valve (Figure 3, Item 1).
5. Position drain hoses (Figure 3, Item 3) down through front bottom guard (Figure 3, Item 2).
6. Open drain valve (Figure 3, Item 1) and allow engine coolant to drain.
7. Flush cooling system, if required. Refer to Flushing in this work package.
