Fuel is combustible and an irritant. Skin andeye protection is required. Ensure work area
is well ventilated.
Keep away from open flame and other ignition sources.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto ho surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Allow engine to cool off before performing maintenance on fuel system. Hot metal parts
can cause severe burns. Wear eye, hand, and skin protection when working with heated
parts.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
C AU T I O N
The exterior of the fuel tank and surrounding components should be thoroughly cleaned to
prevent dirt from entering the fuel tank.
1. Slowly raise lever (Figure 1, Item 2) and turn counterclockwise to relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Remove fuel tank cap (Figure 1, Item 1) from fuel tank (Figure 1, Item 3).
