Clean and inspect all parts IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0295).

DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspecions, or maintenance while smoking or near

fire, flames, or sparks. Fuel may ignite, causing damage to equipment and injury or death
to personnel.
Allow engine to cool off before performing maintenance on fuel filter. Hot metal parts can
cause severe burns. Wear eye, glove, and skin protection when working with heated
parts.
Wear fuel resistant gloves and eye protecton when handling fuels. If exposed to fuel,

promptly wash exposed skin and change fuel-soaked clothing.
Failure to follow these warningsmay result in injury or death to personnel, or damage to
equipment.
SECONDARY FILTER HOSE AND BASE INSTALLATION

C AU T I O N
Wipe area clean around fuel line connections. Contamination of fuel system could result in
premature failure.
1. Install fitting (Figure 7, Item 13) on filter base (Figure 7, Item 18).
2. Install new O-ring (Figure 7, Item 11) and plug (Figure 7, Item 10) on filter base (Figure 7, Item 18).
3. Install new O-ring (Figure 7, Item 8) and fuel temperature sensor (Figure 7, Item 9) on filter base (Figure 7,
Item 18).
4. Install new three new O-rings (Figure 7, Items 19, 20 and 23), fitting (Figure 7, Item 22), cap (Figure 7, Item 1),
and plug (Figure 7, Item 21) on filter base (Figure 7, Item 18).
5. Install new gasket (Figure 7, Item 17), cover (Figure 7, Item 16), two washers (Figure 7, Item 14), and bolts
(Figure 7, Item 15) on filter base (Figure 7, Item 18).
