REMOVAL CONTINUED
44. Remove fitting (Figure 17, Item 3) and O-ring (Figure 17, Item 2) from torque converter housing (Figure 17,
Item 1). Discard O-ring.
WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Torque converter housing weighs 144 lb (195.2 Nm).
Torque converter weighs 172 lb (233.2 Nm).
Mark position and alignment of torque converter to torque converter housing.
45. With assistance, remove eight bolts (Figure 17, Item 5), washers (Figure 17, Item 6), and torque converter
housing (Figure 17, Item 1) from torque converter (Figure 17, Item 4).
46. Remove O-ring (Figure 17, Item 7) from torque converter (Figure 17, Item 4). Discard O-ring.
47. Remove bolt (Figure 17, Item 10), washer (Figure 17, Item 9), and bracket link (Figure 17, Item 8) from torque
converter housing (Figure 17, Item 1).
