Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. failure to
follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Torque converter weighs 172 lb (233.2 Nm).
Torque converter housing weighs 144 lb (195.2 Nm).
Install torque converter housing to torque converter as noted during removal.
Hand tighten all bolts before tightening bolts.
5. With assistance, install torque converter housing (Figure 19, Item 1), eight washers (Figure 19, Item 6), and
bolts (Figure 19, Item 5) on torque converter (Figure 19, Item 4).
6. Install new O-ring (Figure 19, Item 2) and fitting (Figure 19, Item 3) on torque converter housing (Figure 19,
Item 1).
