8. Retract lift cylinders, refer to TM 5-2410-241-10. If engine is not operable refer to WP 0218.
WARN I N G
Install cylinder brackets to secure lift cylinders to radiator guard. Without brackets,
uncontrolled cylinder movement may occur during removal and installation of radiator
guard.
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device.
Failure to follow these warnings may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Steps 9 - 13 describe one lift cylinder. Repeat steps to secure other lift cylinder.
9. Install spacer (Figure 3, Item 3), bracket (Figure 3, Item 4), washer (Figure 3, Item 2), and bolt (Figure 3,
Item 1) on radiator guard (Figure 3, Item 12). Do not tighten bolt.
10. Position two clamps (Figure 3, Item 9) on lift cylinder (Figure 3, Item 8) and align with bracket (Figure 3, Item 4)
on radiator guard (Figure 3, Item 12).
11. Install washer (Figure 3, Item 6), bolt (Figure 3, Item 5), and nut (Figure 3, Item 7) on bracket (Figure 3, Item 4)
and clamps (Figure 3, Item 9).
12. Tighten bolt (Figure 3, Item 1).
13. Install large tiedown strap (Figure 3, Item 11) on lift cylinder (Figure 3, Item 8) and cylinder end (Figure 3,
Item 10).
