5. Remove secondary air filter element (Figure 4, Item 1) from air filter housing assembly (Figure 4, Item 2). Dis-
card secondary filter element.

CLEANING AND INSPECTION

1. Block air filter outlet to engine intake.
2. Using a clean rag and solvent, clean inside of air filter housing.
3. Unblock air filter outlet.
C AU T I O N
DO NOT tap or strike air filter elements to re ove dust. Damage to air filter elements may

result.
DO NOT wash air filter elements.
DO NOT use air filter elements with damaged pleats, gaskets, or seals. Dirt entering
engine will cause damage to engine components.
DO NOT attempt to clean a secondary air filter element.
DO NOT use compressed air at pressure greater than 207 kPa (30 psi) to clean primary
element.
Failure to follow these cautions ma result in damage to equipment.

Use either low-pressure compressed air or a vacuum to clean primary air filter element.
Direct airflow from inside element and up and down pleats rather than across pleats.
