KEY
COMPONENT
DESCRIPTION
1
Start Switch
Machine ECM reads voltage from start switch to determine
switch position.
2
Machine ECM
Machine ECM is located behind right rear access door above
batteries. Machine ECM controls engine starting system,
machine hydraulic systems, A/C system, and backup alarm
operation using programmed memory and sensor and switch
data as described throughout this work package. Machine
ECM communicates with the engine ECM and equipment
ECM by means of the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus.
3
Starter Relay
The starter relay is a solenoid that supplies power to the
starter motor when energized. The start switch requests
starter relay operation when the operator turns the switch to
the START position.
4
Starting Aid Relay
The starting aid relay controls the starting aid valve, which
controls the injection of ether into the inlet manifold for cold
weather operation. Refer to Ether Injection in this work
package for additional information.
