Always inspect harness connectors thatare involved in the circuit. Poor
Normal
connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit problem. Ver-
ify that all connections in circuit are clean and secure, and connections
are in good condition. If problem with connection is found, correct the
problem and verify diagnostic code is active before performing this pro-
cedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Isolate Fault.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0016). Select
machine control D6K ECM and
verify 2482-06 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Remove rear bottom guards from
machine (WP 0156).
4. Disconnect winch wiring harness
connector WF-C1 (WP 0018, Fig-
ure 253) from winch solenoid wir-
ing harness connector WC-C3
(WP 0018, Figure 250) (WP
0137).
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
Code 2482-06 Remains Active - Pro-
6. Check for active code 2482-05 or
ceed to Test Step 2.
2482-06 in machine control D6K
ECM (WP 0016).
Code 2482-06 Becomes Inactive
and 2482-05 Becomes Active - Pro-
ceed to Test Step 5.
Test Step 2. Test for Shorted Winch
Solenoid Wiring Harness.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Remove right rear access cover
from machine (WP 0191).
