TURBOCHARGER INSPECTION CONTINUED
Turbocharger Oil Supply and Oil Drain Lines
00028
1. Check for excessive crankcase pressure. If crankcase pressure is high, or if turbocharger oil drain is restricted,
pressure in center housing may be greater than pressure of turbine housing. Perform Crankcase Breather
Inspection in this work package and correct any problems.
2. Check turbocharger oil supply line for restriction. If oil supply line is bent, kinked, or restricted, turbocharger will
be starved for oil, and damage will occur. Check oil supply line for sharp restrictive bends and kinks, and not
routed next to engine exhaust manifold. Clean, replace, or reroute oil supply line (WP 0079).
3. Check turbocharger oil drain line for restriction. If oil drain line is restricted, pressure in center housing may be
greater than pressure of turbine housing. Check oil drain line for sharp restrictive bends and kinks, and if not
routed next to engine exhaust manifold. Clean, replace, or reroute oil drain line (WP 0079).
