DECELERATION/BRAKE PEDAL TEST - HYDRAULIC CONTINUED

1. Roll control wheel left (clockwise) to decrease machine ground speed to minimum setting (TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Start and run engine at high idle (TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Select slowest ground speed on compact instrument cluster (CIC) (TM 5-2410-240-10).
N OT E
Engine speed will decrease if brake/deceleration pedal is set to decelerate engine. Engine
speed will remain at high idle if brake/deceleration pedal is set to decelerate hystat
system.
4. Depress brake/deceleration pedal and release parking brake (TM 5-2410-240-10).
5. Position steering and transmission control to FORWARD position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
WARN I N G
The tracks will move duringthis procedure. Keep all personnel away from machine during
procedure.
Provide adequate support and use assistance during procedure.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
6. Slowly release brake/deceleration pedal.
7. Monitor and record pressure readings at parking brake pressure tap on test panel.
a. Pressure readings should be 450 22 psi (3,100 150 kPa).
b. Engine RPM should be 2,100 30 RPM.
8. Depress brake/deceleration pedal to first detent position.
9. Monitor and record pressure readings at parking brake pressure tap on test panel.
a. Pressure readings should be 450 22 psi (3,100 150 kPa).
b. Engine RPM should be 1,400 50 RPM.
10. Fully depress brake/deceleration pedal.
11. Monitor and record pressure readings at parking brake pressure tap on test panel.
a. Pressure readings should be 15 15 psi (100 100 kPa).
b. Engine RPM should be 1,400 50 RPM.
12. Return steering and transmission control to NEUTRAL position and return engine to idle.
13. Stop engine, relieve hydraulic system pressure (WP 0162), and remove pressure gauges when tests and
adjustments are complete.
If pressures are not within specification, deceleration/pedal sensor should be calibrated. Refer to Service
Brake/Deceleration Pedal - Calibrate in this work package.
14. Perform deceleration/brake pedal test after calibration.
