Procedure requires testing at four pressure taps simultaneously. If four gauges and test
hoses are not available, install pressure gauges on pressure tap on test panel and
corresponding pressure tap on pump, then perform test. Switch pressure gauges for
remaining pressure taps listed and perform test.
1. Start and idle engine at low idle (TM 5-2410-240-10).
WARN I N G
The tracks will move during this procedure. Keep all personnel away from machine during
procedure. Severe injury or death could result if caught in moving tracks. Provide
adequate support and use assistance during procedure. Failure to follow these warnings
may result in injury or death to personnel.
2. Depress brake/deceleration pedal and release parking brake (TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Select highest maximum ground speed and increase engine speed to high idle (TM 5-2410-240-10).
4. Position speed and direction control to FORWARD position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
5. Slowly release brake/deceleration pedal.
6. Monitor and record the following:
a. Engine speed.
b. Pressure readings at left side hydrostatic pump pressure tap on test panel (Reverse Test only).
c.
Pressure readings at right side hydrostatic pump pressure tap on test panel (Reverse Test only).
d. Pressure readings at left hydrostatic pump (Forward Test only).
e. Pressure readings at right hydrostatic pump (Forward Test only).
f.
Speed of left drive motor.
g. Speed of right drive motor.
h. Compare speed of left and right drive motors. Difference between motors should be less than 40 RPM.
7. Position speed and direction control to NEUTRAL position (TM 5-2410-240-10) and allow tracks to come to a
complete stop.
8. Depress brake/deceleration pedal.
9. Position speed and direction control to REVERSE position (TM 5-2410-240-10), and slowly release brake/
deceleration pedal.
10. Monitor and record parameters in step 6.
11. Position speed and direction control to NEUTRAL position (TM 5-2410-240-10) and allow tracks to come to a
complete stop.
12. Depress brake/deceleration pedal, reduce engine speed to low idle, set parking brake, and stop engine
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
13. Relieve hydraulic system pressure (WP 0162).
