PISTON PUMP NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT
00031
Left and right side hydrostatic pumps are variable displacement piston pumps, and are located beneath cab floor
and mount in-line with engine flywheel. Refer to WP 0003 for detailed description of piston pump. This test is only
necessary if a pump has been rebuilt or machine has failed hydrostatic calibration. This procedure consists of a
mechanical adjustment and a hydraulic adjustment. The mechanical adjustment must be performed before
hydraulic adjustment.
Setup
00031
1. Inspect hydraulic system for Class III leakage and damage. Hydraulic lines must be free from kinks, sharp
bends, and restrictions.
2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
4. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
5. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Start ET and select machine control ECM.

Wait at least 30 seconds for diagnostic codes to become active.
6. Monitor active diagnostic codes with ET. Check and record any active diagnostic codes. If diagnostic codes are
7. Relieve hydraulic system pressure (WP0163) and remove cab floor plate (WP 0205).

Procedure requires jumper hose at two pressure taps. Install jumper hose at pump being
tested. If both pumps are to be tested, perform test, switch jumper hose for remaining
pump, and perform test.
8. For left hydrostatic pump (Figure 25, Item 3), install hose between X1 port (Figure 25, Item 4) and X2 port
(Figure 25, Item 5). Refer to WP 0291 for jumper hose setup procedure.
9. For right hydrostatic pump (Figure 25, Item 1), install hose between X1 port (Figure 25, Item 2) and X2 port
(Figure 25, Item 6). Refer to WP 0291 for jumper hose setup procedure.
