DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspections, or maintenance while smoking or near
fire, flames, or sparks. Fuel may ignite, causing damage to equipment and injury or death
to personnel.
Allow engine to cool off before performing maintenance on fuel filter. Hot metal parts can
cause severe burns. Wear eye, hand, and skin protection when working with heated parts.
Wear fuel-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling fuels. If exposed to fuel,
promptly wash exposed skin and change fuel-soaked clothing.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel or damage to
equipment.
C AU T I O N
Wipe area clean around fuel filter. Contamination of fuel system could result in premature
failure.
N OT E
Tag and mark electrical connector to aid installation.
1. Disconnect wiring harness (Figure 1, Item 8) and position aside.
2. Remove nut (Figure 1, Item 7), washer (Figure 1, Item 6), bolt (Figure 1, Item 2), washer (Figure 1, Item 4),
cable bracket (Figure 1, Item 1), and two hose clamps (Figure 1, Item 3) from standoff bracket (Figure 1,
Item 5).
