The D7R Dozer has three electronic control modules (ECMs): engine, powertrain, and implement. An ECM has the
ability to detect problems with the electrical/electronic system and with engine or machine operation. When an
ECM detects an electrical or electronic system malfunction, the ECM will generate a diagnostic code. The
diagnostic codes are logged with the time and number of occurrences. Codes may be retrieved using two
methods:
On-Board diagnosis using the instrument cluster monitoring system and messenger module
Electronic Technician (ET)
