If new belt is installed, check belt adjustment after 30 minutes of operation.
1. Install belt (Figure 4, Item 7) on machine.
2. While holding belt (Figure 4, Item 7) in position, move A/C compressor (Figure 4, Item 2) upward and tighten
adjusting nut (Figure 4, Item 4) until correct belt tension is achieved.
3. Use belt tension gauge to check deflection on belt (Figure 4, Item 7). Belt deflection should not be more than
0.58 to 0.81 in. (14 to 20 mm) with 25 lb (110 N) of force.
4. Once correct belt tension is achieved, tighten adjusting nut (Figure 4, Item 1).
5. Tighten nut (Figure 4, Item 3) and bolt (Figure 4, Item 8) on A/C compressor (Figure 4, Item 2).
6. Tighten bolt (Figure 4, Item 5) on adjusting rod (Figure 4, Item 6).
