WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure
to follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
The following procedure covers installation of one idler assembly. Follow same procedure
when removing other idler assemblies.
Idler assembly weighs approximately 420 lb (186 kg).
1. Attach lifting device on idler assembly (Figure 1, Item 7).
N OT E
Shims may or may not be present due to buld variation. Install shims as noted during
i
removal.
Install spring pin as noted during removal.
2. Using lifting device and assistance, install shims (Figure 1, Item 1), two blocks (Figure 1, Item 2), idler
(Figure 1, Item 7), spring pins (Figure 1, Item 3), two caps (Figure 1, Item 4), four washers (Figure 1, Item 6),
and bolts (Figure 1, Item 5) on machine. Tighten bolts to 420 lb-ft (570 Nm).
3. Remove lifting device from idler assembly (Figure 1, Item 7).

1. Connect track (WP 0127).
2. Verify correct operation of machine (TM 5-2410-240-10).
