4. Remove nut (Figure 2, Item 3) from bolt (Figure 2, Item 1).
5. Remove bolt (Figure 2, Item 1), cover (Figure 2, Item 12) and filter (Figure 2, Item 10) from screen (Figure 2,
Item 5). Discard filter.
6. Remove O-ring (Figure 2, Item 2) from bolt (Figure 2, Item 1). Discard O-ring.
7. Remove gasket (Figure 2, Item 11) from cover (Figure 2, Item 12). Inspect gasket for damage, replace if
damaged.
WARN I N G
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 TypeIII is an environmentally compliant and
low-toxic material. However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves
and goggles. Use in well-ventilated areas. Keep away from open flames and other
sources of ignition.
Fire extinguishers should be placed n arby when using solvent cleaning compound.

Cloths or rags saturated with solvent cleaning compound must be disposed of IAW
authorized facilities' procedure.
Eye shields must be worn whencleaning with a wire brush. Flying rust and metal particles
may cause injury.
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. Use a maximum of 30 psi (207 kPa)
when cleaning components. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103 kPa) nozzle pressure when
drying parts with compressed air. DO NOT direct compressed air against human skin.
Make sure air stream is directed away from user and other personnel in the area. To
prevent injury, user must wear protective goggles or face shield.
Spacer is under spring tension. Secure spacer and spring before removing retainer ring.
Failure to follow these warnings ma result in injury to personnel.

8. With assistance, remove retaining ring (Figure 2, Item 9) from tube assembly (Figure 2, Item 4).
9. Remove spacer (Figure 2, Item 8), spring (Figure 2, Item 7), and screen (Figure 2, Item 5) from valve (Figure 2,
Item 6).
10. Remove valve (Figure 2, Item 6) from tube assembly (Figure 2, Item 4).
11. Wash the screen (Figure 2, Item 5) in a clean nonflammable solvent.
12. Install valve (Figure 2, Item 6) on tube assembly (Figure 2, Item 4).
13. Install screen (Figure 2, Item 5), spring (Figure 2, Item 7), and spacer (Figure 2, Item 8) on valve (Figure 2,
Item 4).
14. With assistance, install retainer ring (Figure 2, Item 9) on tube assembly (Figure 2, Item 4).
15. Install new gasket (Figure 2, Item 11) on cover (Figure 2, Item 12).
16. Install new O-ring (Figure 2, Item 2) on bolt (Figure 2, Item 1).
