WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Use suitable lifting device to support ripper carriage. The ripper carriage weighs
approximately 2500 lb (1134 kg).
1. Install pin (Figure 5, Item 3), plate (Figure 5, Item 2), and two bolts (Figure 5, Item 1) on each side of carriage
(Figure 5, Item 4).
2. Attach suitable lifting device around pins (Figure 5, Item 3) and support ripper carriage (Figure 5, Item 4).
3. With assistance, install ripper carriage (Figure 5, Item 4) on machine.
N OT E
Install shims as noted during removal.
4. Install shims (Figure 5, Item 9), pin assembly (Figure 5, Item 7), plate (Figure 5, Item 6), and two bolts
(Figure 5, Item 5) on ripper carriage (Figure 5, Item 4) and ripper frame (Figure 5, Item 8). Tighten bolts to
340 45 lb-ft (460 60 Nm).
5. Repeat step 4 for other side of ripper carriage (Figure 5, Item 4) and ripper frame (Figure 5, Item 8).
6. Support ripper carriage (Figure 5, Item 4) with jack stands.
7. Remove two bolts (Figure 5, Item 1), plate (Figure 5, Item 2), and pin (Figure 5, Item 3) from each side of
carriage (Figure 5, Item 4).
