REMOVAL CONTINUED
WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Use suitable lifting device to support ripper carriage. The ripper carriage weighs
approximately 2,500 lb (1,134 kg).
7. Install pin assembly (Figure 4, Item 3), plate (Figure 4, Item 2), and two bolts (Figure 4, Item 1) on carriage
assembly (Figure 4, Item 4) on both sides.
8. Attach lifting device around pins (Figure 4, Item 3) and support carriage (Figure 4, Item 4).
N OT E
Note quantity and position of shims before removal to aid installation.
9. Remove two bolts (Figure 4, Item 5), plate (Figure 4, Item 6), pin assembly (Figure 4, Item 7), and shims
(Figure 4, Item 9) from ripper carriage (Figure 4, Item 4) and ripper frame (Figure 4, Item 8).
10. Remove ripper carriage (Figure 4, Item 4) from ripper frame (Figure 4, Item 8).
11. Remove lifting device from ripper carriage (Figure 4, Item 4).
12. Remove two bolts (Figure 4, Item 1), plate (Figure 4, Item 2), and pin (Figure 4, Item 3) from carriage on each
side.
