WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Ripper shank weighs approximately 325 lb (147 kg).
This procedure is for one ripper shank. Usethe same procedure for other ripper shanks.
1. Attach bracket link and suitable lifting device on ripper shank (Figure 1, Item 1).
2. Remove two cotter pins (Figure 1, Item 5), retainers (Figure 1, Item 4), and pin (Figure 1, Item 3) from ripper
shank (Figure 1, Item 1). Discard cotter pins.
3. With assistance, raise ripper shank (Figure 1, Item 1) and remove through top of ripper carriage (Figure 1,
Item 2).

4. Remove lifting device and bracket link from ripper shank (Figure 1, Item 1).
