INSPECTION
00018
C AU T I O N
When parking machine prior to beginning this procedure, allow machine to coast to a stop
from a forward direction. DO NOT use the brakes to stop the machine. Coasting to a stop
will allow for accurate measurement of track adjustment. Failure to follow this caution may
result in poor track adjustment and accelerated wear of components.
N OT E
This procedure applies to right and left tacks. Illustrations shown are of right track.
r
Each track must be inspected and adjusted separately.
1. Place a straightedge (Figure 1, Item 2) across top of track from track carrier roller (Figure 1, Item 3) to final
drive sprocket (Figure 1, Item 1).
2. Measure distance from top of grouser tooth (Figure 1, Item A) to bottom of straightedge (Figure 1, Item B) at
center point between track carrier roller and final drive sprocket. Record measurement.

3. Reposition straightedge (Figure 1, Item 2) across top of track from track carrier roller (Figure 1, Item 3) to front
idler (Figure 1, Item 4).
4. Measure distance from top of grouser tooth (Figure 1, Item C) to bottom of straightedge (Figure 1, Item D) at
center point between track carrier roller and front idler. Record measurement.
a. If average of both measurements is 1.14 - 1.6 inches (29 - 41 mm), no adjustment is necessary.
b. If average of both measurements is less than 1.14 inches (29 mm), proceed to Tight Track Adjustment in
this work package.
c.
If average of both measurements is greater than 1.6 inches (41 mm), proceed to Loose Track Adjustment
in this work package.
