Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in circuit. Poor
mal
connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit problem.
Verify that all connections in circuit are clean, secure, and connections
are in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct
the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before
performing this procedure.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0016). Select
0291-05 Code Active - Proceed to
machine control ECM and check
step 2.
for diagnostic codes (WP 0013).
No Codes Active - The problem does
not exist at this time. Resume normal
operation.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Disconnect engine harness
demand fan solenoid connector
EN-C18 (WP 0018, Figure 135)
from demand fan solenoid (WP
0199).
4. Install a jumper wire between pins
1 and 2 on engine harness
demand fan solenoid connector
EN-C18 (WP 0018, Figure 135).
5. Check for diagnostic codes (WP
0291-05 Code Active - Proceed to
step 6.
0291-06 Code Active - Replace
demand fan solenoid (WP 0199).
Ensure all harness connectors are
reconnected. Verify proper operation
of machine (TM 5-2410-240-10).
6. Disconnect platform harness to
engine harness connector PL-
C32 (WP 0018, Figure 232) from
engine harness to platform har-
ness connector EN-C50 (WP
0018, Figure 140).
7. Disconnect platform harness to
engine harness connector PL-
C15 (WP 0018, Figure 225) from
engine harness to platform har-
ness connector EN-C15 (WP
0018, Figure 132).
