2440-06 Winch Brake Sole-
noid Current Above Normal
Always inspect harness connectors thatare involved in the circuit. Poor
connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit problem. Ver-
ify that all connections in circuit are clean and secure, and connections
are in good condition. If problem with connection is found, correct the
problem and verify diagnostic code is active before performing this pro-
cedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Isolate Fault.
machine control D6K ECM and
verify 2440-06 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Remove rear bottom guards from
machine (WP 0156).
4. Disconnect winch wiring harness
ing harness connector WC-C3
0137).
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
Code 2440-06 Remains Active - Pro-
6. Check for active code 2440-05 or
ceed to Test Step 2.
2440-06 in machine control D6K
Code 2440-06 Becomes Inactive
and 2440-05 Becomes Active - Pro-
ceed to Test Step 4.
Test Step 2. Test for Shorted Winch
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Remove right rear access cover
from machine (WP 0191).
