Always inspect harness connectors thatare involved in the circuit. Poor
Normal
connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit problem. Ver-
ify that all connections in circuit are clean and secure, and connections
are in good condition. If problem with connection is found, correct the
problem and verify diagnostic code is active before performing this pro-
cedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Test Voltage of 709-OR
10 Volt Sensor Supply Circuit at
Winch Pressure Sensor.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0016). Select
machine control D6K ECM and
verify 2441-03 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Remove rear bottom guards from
machine (WP 0156).
4. Disconnect winch solenoid wiring
harness connector WC-C4 from
winch oil pressure sensor (WP
0018, Figure 251) (WP 0136).
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
Voltage Between 9.8 and 10.2 Volts
6. Using digital multimeter (WP
- Proceed to Test Step 2.
0283), measure for voltage
between WC-C4 terminal A (WP
Voltage Less Than 9.8 Volts - Pro-
0018, Figure 251) and ground.
ceed to Test Step 7.
Test Step 2. Test Voltage of 852-GN
Winch Pressure Sensor Circuit at
Winch Pressure Sensor.
Voltage Between 4.8 and 5.2 Volts -
1. Using digital multimeter (WP
Proceed to Test Step 3.
0283), measure for voltage
between WC-C4 terminal C (WP
Voltage Less Than 4.8 Volts - Pro-
0018, Figure 251) and ground.
ceed to Test Step 9.
Voltage Higher Than 5.2 Volts - Pro-
ceed to Test Step 11.
