DRIVE BELT - TEST AND INSPECT

If new belt is installed, re-inspect belt after 30 minutes of operation.
1. Inspect belt (Figure 7, Item 1) for stretching, damage, cracking, glazing, or wear.
a. Replace drive belt if damaged, stretched, glazed, or worn.
b. Inspect drive belt for more than four cracks per inch (25.4 mm). Replace drive belt if there are more than
specified number of cracks.
2. Remove drive belt (WP 0090).
3. Using a 1/2 in. drive ratchet, rotate belt tensioner through its full range of motion.
a. If drive belt tensioner binds or sticks, replace drive belt tensioner (WP 0090).
b. If drive belt tensioner is OK, proceed to step 4.
4. Remove debris from grooves of pulleys before replacing drive belt.
