ENGINE OIL PRESSURE TEST CONTINUED
1. Change engine oil (WP 0085) and replace engine oil filter (WP 0084).
2. Remove third fuel filter (WP 0066) and oil pressure test port plug (Figure 1, Item 1) from engine (Figure 1,
Item 2).
N OT E
A suitable pressure gauge can be used to test lubrication system pressure.
3. Install pressure gauge on engine. Install third fuel filter (WP 0066) and start engine (TM 5-2410-240-10). Allow
engine to reach normal operating temperature.
N OT E
Minimum oil pressure at maximum engine speed and at normal operating temperature is
45 psi (310 kPa). Lower pressure is normal at low idle.
4. Record pressure on gauge. Pressure should be 45 psi (310 kPa) at high idle.
5. Shut down engine (TM 5-2410-240-10), and remove third fuel filter (WP 0066) and pressure gauge.
6. Install oil pressure test port plug (Figure 1, Item 1) on engine (Figure 1, Item 2) and install third fuel filter (WP
0066).
a. Compare actual engine oil pressure gauge to ET. If engine oil pressure is less than specified, refer to Low
Oil Pressure in this work package.
b. If actual oil pressure gauge is within specification, but does not reflect value from ET, verify correct
operation of ET. If measurements are still incorrect, replace oil pressure sensor (WP 0053).
