PRIME PUMP FLOW TEST
00026
N OT E
This procedure will determine if prime pump is operating and that the fuel supply to prime
pump is not restricted.
1. Ensure fuel level in fuel tank is above level of suction pipe in fuel tank.
2. Inspect fuel system for Class I, II, or III leaks. Refer to Fuel System Inspection in this work package.
3. Inspect low pressure fuel lines from fuel tank for kinks, bends, and restrictions. Replace components if
condition found.
4. Install new fuel filters (WP 0074, WP 0063, and WP 0066).
N OT E
Tag and note routing of fuel lines to aid installation.
5. Disconnect fuel injector leak-off tube (Figure 1, Item 5) from fuel hose (Figure 1, Item 4). Insert end of fuel hose
into a suitable container.
6. Insert fuel injector leak-off tube (Figure 1, Item 5) into suitable container.
7. Prime fuel system (TM 5-2410-240-10), and verify that fuel is flowing from secondary fuel filter base (Figure 1,
Item 1). Stop priming fuel system (TM 5-2410-240-10).
a. If there is no flow of fuel, verify prime pump is operating.
b. If there is no flow of fuel, verify prime pump fuel hose (Figure 1, Item 3), low pressure fuel hose (Figure 1,
Item 2), and fuel injector leak-off tubes (Figure 1, Item 5) are not kinked, damaged, or restricted. Replace
fuel hoses if condition found (WP 0060, WP 0061).
c.
If there is no flow of fuel, replace secondary fuel filter base (WP 0064).
8. Connect fuel injector leak-off tube (Figure 1, Item 5) on fuel hose (Figure 1, Item 4).
