HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM TEST

There are six fuel injectors mounted on the cylinder head. Fuel injectors are electromechanical devices. High-
pressure fuel is continuously available to each injector. The engine Electronic Control Module (ECM) determines
the correct time and duration to activate each injector. Refer to WP 0003 for detailed description of fuel system.
Test Step 1.

1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Turn battery disconnect switch to OFF position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Connect MSD to machine (WP 0016).
4. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position.
5. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Start ET.
N OT E
Wait at least 30 seconds for diagnostic codes to become active.
6. Monitor active diagnostic codes with ET. Check and record any active diagnostic codes.
7. Check for active diagnostic codes.
a. If condition is found, perform diagnosis.
b. If codes are not active, proceed to Test Step 2.
