HIGH LEAK-OFF OF FUEL INJECTOR CONTINUED
2. Install injector leak-off connector (Figure 8, Item 2) to fuel injector pump (Figure 8, Item 1) and fuel tube (Figure
8, Item 3). Position hose (Figure 8, Item 4) into suitable container.

If engine will not start, disconnect fuel injector harness connectors (WP 0052) at valve
cover in order to prevent engine from inadvertently starting.
3. Attempt to start engine. If engine will not start, crank engine for 30 seconds. If engine starts, operate engine at
1,000 rpm and a constant load for three minutes.
4. Monitor and record amount of fuel that has been collected in container from leak off connector. If engine does
not start, perform test three times. Calculate average of three values.
a. If average of fuel samples collected is less than 1.3 oz. (38 mL) during cranking test, or less than 24.35 oz.
(720 mL) during three minute engine run test, then fuel injection leak-off is OK.
b. If fuel sample collected is more than 1.3 oz. (38 mL) during cranking test, or more than 24.35 oz. (720 mL)
during three minute engine run test, then high injector leak-off condition exists. Replace all fuel injectors
(WP 0078).
5. Remove injector leak-off connector (Figure 8, Item 2) from fuel injector pump (Figure 8, Item 1) and fuel tube
(Figure 8, Item 3). Position hose (Figure 8, Item 4) into suitable container.
