CHANGING FINAL DRIVE OIL CONTINUED
1. Position one final drive (Figure 1, Item 6) so oil level mark (Figure 1, Item 1) is horizontal. Drain plug (Figure 1,
Item 4) will be positioned at the bottom of final drive.
2. Remove drain plug (Figure 1, Item 4) and O-ring (Figure 1, Item 5) from final drive (Figure 1, Item 6). Discard
O-ring. Allow oil to drain into a suitable container.
3. Install new O-ring (Figure 1, Item 5) and drain plug (Figure 1, Item 4) on final drive (Figure 1, Item 6).
4. Remove oil fill plug (Figure 1, Item 3) and O-ring (Figure 1, Item 2) from final drive (Figure 1, Item 6). Discard
O-ring.
5. Refer to LO 5-2410-241-13 for correct amount and type of oil. Fill final drive (Figure 1, Item 6) to bottom of filler
plug (Figure 1, Item 3) opening.
6. Clean and inspect oil fill plug (Figure 1, Item 3) for damage, replace plug if damaged.
7. Install new O-ring (Figure 1, Item 2) and oil fill plug (Figure 1, Item 3) on final drive (Figure 1, Item 6).
8. Repeat steps for other final drive.
