Without brackets, uncontrolled cylinder movement may occur during removal and
installation of radiator guard.
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device.
Failure to follow these warnings may cause injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Steps 27 - 32 describe one lift cylinder. Repeat steps to release other lift cylinder.
27. Remove large tiedown strap (Figure 20, Item 11) from lift cylinder (Figure 20, Item 8) and cylinder end
(Figure 20, Item 10). Discard tiedown strap.
28. Remove bolt (Figure 20, Item 5), nut (Figure 20, Item 7), washer (Figure 20, Item 6) and bracket (Figure 20,
Item 4) from clamps (Figure 20, Item 9).
29. Remove two clamps (Figure 20, Item 9) from lift cylinder (Figure 20, Item 8).
30. Remove bolt (Figure 20, Item 1) and bracket (Figure 20, Item 4) from radiator guard (Figure 20, Item 12).
31. Remove bolt (Figure 20, Item 1), washer (Figure 20, Item 2), spacer (Figure 20, Item 3), and bracket
(Figure 20, Item 4) from radiator guard (Figure 20, Item 12).
32. Extend lift cylinders, refer to TM 5-2410-241-10. If engine is not operable perform WP 0218.
