Test Step 1: Verify Diagnostic
Solenoid Current Below Normal
Code is Active.

Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit
problem. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and
secure, and connections are in good condition. If a problem with
a connection is found, correct the problem and verify diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Perform Fuel Rail Pump Solenoid
1779-05 Active - Proceed to Test
Test (WP 0026) and check if diag-

Test Step 2: Test Solenoid Con-
trol Circuit.
1. Turn ignition switch to OFF
position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Disconnect harness connec-
tor E-C2 (WP 0018,
Figure 103) from fuel rail pump
solenoid.
3. Install jumper wire between
fuel rail pump solenoid har-
ness connector E-C2
(WP 0018, Figure 103) termi-
nal 1 and ground.
