DRAIN AND FLUSHING PROCEDURE CONTINUED

Do not add water to pe-mixed antifreeze. If water is added to pre-mixed antifreeze, it will
r
be diluted and will not provide proper engine protection and engine and/or cooling system
damage may occur.
Be sure to identify the typeof antifreeze being added, or engine and/or cooling system
damage may occur.
N OT E
Some antifreeze is pre-mixed and requires no water.
Traditional antifreeze requires mixing with anequal amount of water. Mix antifreeze and
water before adding to machine cooling system to ensure proper 1:1 ratio is used.
It is allowable to mix tradiitonal and pre-mix antifreeze types in the same cooling system.
The cooling system capacity is 19.8 gal. (75 L).
13. Add correct type and amount of antifreeze.
14. Start engine TM 5-2410-241-10. Run engine without radiator filler cap until the thermostat opens and coolant
level stabilizes.
15. Check coolant level. Make necessary adjustments to coolant level.
16. Inspect radiator filler cap seal for debris, foreign material, or damage. Clean radiator filler cap with a clean
cloth. Replace radiator filler cap if damaged.
17. Install radiator filler cap and close access door.
18. Stop engine (TM 5-2410-241-10).
19. Install bottom guards (WP 0199).
