2. When cable is fully reeled out exposing the cable ferrule in the winch drum pocket, shut off machine. Remove
cable ferrule (Figure 2, Item 2) from pocket (Figure 2, Item 1).

Clean and inspect all parts IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0295).

C AU T I O N
Cable must be under tension when being reeled onto winch drum, and must be packed
tightly around drum with no gaps. Failure to follow this caution may cause damage to
equipment.
N OT E
To keep tension on cable at all times during installation, connect cable hook to a
secondary machine. Operator of secondary machine must apply brakes to maintain
tension. Cable must be fully stretched out in a straight line behind D7R dozer.
1. Install cable ferrule (Figure 2, Item 2) in pocket (Figure 2, Item 1) of winch drum.
