IMPLEMENT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM CONTINUED
3. Charge Pump Description
The charge pump is located on the rear of the winch pump. The charge pump contains a gerotor (gear pump) that
provides oil for the winch hydrostatic system during machine operation. Charge oil also provides makeup oil for the
drive loop and lubrication and cooling for pump and motor components.
4. Charge Pump Operation
As the pinion gear (Figure 18, Item 7) and ring gear (Figure 18, Item 6) rotate, oil is drawn through the supply
passage (Figure 18, Item 8) and is then forced out through the passage (Figure 18, Item 9). Oil then flows through
the hydraulic oil filter (Figure 18, Item 4) and returns through the passage (Figure 18, Item 5). Oil then flows
through the passage (Figure 18, Item 12) and then through the orifice (Figure 18, Item 1). The reduced oil then
flows through the passage (Figure 18, Item 2) to the piston pump solenoid valve. Oil also flows from the supply
passage to the crossover relief valve (Figure 18, Item 3), the charge relief valve (Figure 18, Item 10), and the
crossover relief valve (Figure 18, Item 11).
