Test Step 1: Test ECM Battery
Low
Voltage Supply Circuit.
N OT E
Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit
problem. Verify that all connections in circuit are clean and
secure, and connections are in good condition. If a problem with
connection is found, correct the problem and verify diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Select engine ECM C6.6 D6K
and verify 0168-01 is active.
2. Perform Alternator and Charg- Alternator Voltage Too Low -
ing System Tests (WP 0030). Replace alternator (WP 0091).
Verify proper operation of machine
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
Alternator Voltage OK - Proceed
to step 3.
3. Perform Battery Test and Bat-
Battery or Batteries Failed -
Recharge or replace battery as
operation of machine (TM 5-2410-
240-10).
Batteries Passed - Proceed to
step 4.
4. Perform Battery Cable and
Cable or Connection Bad -
Alternator Cable Test
Tighten connection or replace
cable. Verify proper operation of
machine (TM 5-2410-240-10).
Cables Good - Proceed to step 5.
5. Disconnect engine ECM har-
ness connector EN-C13
engine ECM J1.
6. Turn battery disconnect switch
to ON position (TM 5-2410-
240-10).
