Always inspect harness connectors thatare involved in the circuit. Poor
connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit problem. Ver-
ify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure, and connec-
tions are in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found,
correct problem and verify diagnostic code is active before performing
this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Test for Shorted Chas-
sis Wiring Harness.
machine control D6K ECM and
verify 1197-03 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
3. Remove right rear access cover
from machine (WP 0191).
4. Disconnect platform wiring har-
ness connector PL-C18 (WP
0018, Figure 226) from chassis
wiring harness connector CH-C1
(WP 0150); with Winch (WP
0155).
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-2410-240-10).

Code 1197-03 Becomes Inactive -
Replace chassis wiring harness: with
Ripper (WP 0153); with Winch (WP
