Always inspect harness connectors that are involved in circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of an electrical circuit
problem. Verify that all connections in circuit are clean and
secure, and connections are in good condition. If a problem with
a connection is found, correct the problem and verify diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Tag wiring harnesses to aid installation.
1. Remove ether bottle (WP
0043).
2. Perform Ether Injection Sole-
2417-06 Active - Proceed to Test
noid Override Test ( WP 0029)
Step 2.
and check if diagnostic code
2417-06 becomes active.
Test Step 2: Test Solenoid Con-
trol Circuit.
1. Turn ignition switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
2. Disconnect harness connec-
tor EN-C20 (WP 0018,
Figure 136) from ether valve
solenoid.
3. Turn ignition switch to ON
position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
4. Perform Ether Injection Sole-
2417-06 Remains Active - Pro-
noid Override Test (WP 0029)
ceed to step 5.
and check if diagnostic code
2417-05 Becomes Inactive - ECM
2417-05 becomes active.
and circuits tests OK, ether injec-
tion solenoid faulty. Replace ether
injection solenoid (WP 0048). Ver-
ify proper operation of machine
(TM 5-2410-240-10).
5. Turn ignition switch and bat-
tery disconnect switch to OFF
position (TM 5-2410-240-10).
6. Disconnect harness connec-
tor EN-C13 (WP 0018, Figure
130) from engine ECM J1.
