ENGINE OIL COOLER INSPECTION

WARN I N G
Hot oil and hot components can cause injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to
contact skin. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
1. Remove engine oil cooler from engine and disassemble (WP 0086).
2. Thoroughly clean oil cooler (Figure 4, Item 1) and mounting area (Figure 4, Item 2).
WARN I N G
Compressed air for cleaning or drying purposes, or for clearing restrictions, should never
exceed 30 psi (207 kPa). Wear protective clothing (goggles/shield, gloves, etc.) and use
caution to avoid injury to personnel.
3. Inspect oil cooler (Figure 4, Item 1) for cracks and dents. Replace oil cooler if cracks or dents exist (WP 0085).
4. Ensure no restrictions for flow exist in oil cooler. If restrictions are suspected, flush inside of oil cooler with
clean lubricating oil.
5. Dry engine oil cooler with low pressure air.
6. Assemble engine oil cooler and install on engine (WP 0086).
