WATER PUMP INSPECTION CONTINUED
2. Remove water pump from engine (WP 0083).
3. Inspect water pump shaft (Figure 3, Item 2) for unusual noise, excessive looseness, and/or vibration of
bearings. Replace water pump if any unusual conditions exist (WP 0083).
4. Inspect gear (Figure 3, Item 3) for wear and damage. If gear is worn or damaged, inspect gear on engine.
Refer to Front Gear Group (WP 0024).
5. Remove two bolts (Figure 3, Item 5), water pump cover (Figure 3, Item 6), and gasket (Figure 3, Item 7).
6. Inspect impeller (Figure 3, Item 4) for wear, erosion, and damage. Replace water pump if adverse condition is
found.
7. Install new gasket (Figure 3, Item 7), water pump cover (Figure 3, Item 6), two bolts (Figure 3, Item 5), and
water pump (Figure 3, Item 1) on engine (WP 0083).
