WATER PUMP INSPECTION

1. Inspect water pump (Figure 2, Item 2) for Class III leaks at vent hole. Vent hole (Figure 2, Item 3) is covered by
tab (Figure 2, Item 1) on front cover (Figure 2, Item 4). Water pump seal is lubricated by engine coolant in
engine cooling system. It is normal for small amount of leakage to occur as engine cools down and parts
contract. Replace water pump if engine coolant leaks continuously from vent hole.
