ACCUMULATOR CHARGING
C AU T I O N
Dry nitrogen is the only gas approved for use in accumulator. Any other gas may cause
the accumulator to fail.
N OT E
Accumulator charge pressure should be 150 psi (1035 kPa) when temperature is 70F
(20C).
New accumulators ship discharged and must be charged. Once unit is properly charged, it
is considered a sealed unit and should never be recharged. If unit looses charge it should
be replaced.
Accumulator should only be charged on the bench.
1. Remove protective cap (Figure 35, Item 2) from valve (Figure 35, Item 1).
2. Attach nitrogen charging group to valve (Figure 35, Item 1).
3. Using nitrogen charging group, charge Accumulator to 150 psi (1,035 kPa) when temperature is 70F (20C).
4. Install protective cap (Figure 35, Item 2) on valve (Figure 35, Item 1).
5. Install accumulator (Figure 35, Item 3) on machine (WP 0217).
